Alldj JVC and SONY MPEG Rebuilder is a free tool to convert your JVC and SONY video files into DVD VOB files. The output files may then be opened with Alldj Super DVD Creator and build a standard DVD with them. Other output formats supported are VCD and SVCD (for CD burning), and straight MPEG files.
This free program is conceived as a plug-in for other Alldj tools, so its functionality is very limited, focused on the creation of VOB files that need later to be authored to become a standard DVD. Because JVC and SONY hard disc camcorders produce files in a non-standard, proprietary format (MOD and MPG, respectively) which is not supported by many of the authoring tools we use to create DVDs, Alldj JVC and SONY MPEG Rebuilder becomes a useful and necessary add-on for those users with JVC and SONY camcorders.
The program allows you to open any number of MOD and MPG files and encode them into VOB or MPEG files with just one click. Then you will need an authoring tool to create the files needed to burn them either on DVD or on VCD/SVCD. The encoding speed of this utility is certainly one of its main assets.
